At least 21 people said to have been killed after a major blast occurred in a firecrackers’ godown near the Koti Lingala temple in Warangal. The accident said to have occurred around 11.30 am and nearly 21 workers reportedly working inside the godown of the Bhadrakali Fire Works at the time of the blast.
Nearly 12 bodies have been recovered most of them are mutilated due to the impact of the blast due to which even the buildings in surrounding places developed cracks. Police, fire tenders, ambulances were pressed into service as rescue operations are still in progress.
Fire tenders are still fighting to put out the flames that have engulfed the entire building which was razed to the ground. More than 8 to 10 people are suspected to have buried under the debris. The District Collector is supervising the rescue operations and ordered a probe into the whole issue.
