The 13 Indian passengers were arrested for attempting to smuggle in the large number of foreign cigarettes which is said to be over 3700 Dandas here in Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi today.

According to the airport authorities, the Delhi Customs officials have intercepted the passengers on their arrival from Dubai this morning after crossing the Green Channel on suspicion. A large number of foreign cigarettes worth around Rs 66,60,000 was found in their possession.

The passengers have arrived from Dubai to Delhi via Flight No. EK-510 and arrived at 09:05 am. They were stranded at Dubai airport due to Covid19 lockdown. The accused have been arrested under Section 104 of the Customs Act, 1962. Further investigations are under progress.
