The Andhra Pradesh Government today suspended at least 13 employees of the famous Kanka Durga temple on the Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada following ACB report submitted to this effect.
According to the details available, the suspended employees comprising 5 Superintendenting Officers and 8 other clerical and substaff working in 7 different departments on the abode of goddess Durga.
The move came after the ACB submitted its report to the government after a 25-member ACB team conducting thorough checks since February 18 in the temple premises. The officials found irregularities in tenders for appointing security agencies, sanitation, engineering works, ticket sales, Prasadam sales, scrap sales and saree auction etc. They also said to have seized unaccounted cash from different wings during their surprise checks.
