2 Jawans from Telangana, AP among 4 others killed on LoC

An Indian Army Officer and 3 Jawans including one from each Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have made a supreme sacrifice during a shoot out with intruders on the Line of Actual Control (LOC) in Machil Secor of Jammu and Kashmir.

The two Jawans identified as Ryada Mahesh and Praveen Kumar Reddy both hail from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively died in the shoot out. Three other intruders were also shot dead by the jawans. Mahesh belongs to the Komanpalli village in Velpur Mandal of Nizamabad district while Praveen Kumar Reddy belongs to Reddyvaripalli village in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

The army on Friday informed that its Jawans took up combing operation along the border on the LOC in the middle of the night after finding the suspicious movement of people that led to the prolonged encounter that lasted for few hours.

The 26-year-old Army Jawan Mahesh from Nizamabad joined the Indian Army in 2015 and has been working since then on LOC. He belongs to a farmer’s family and his brother is a migrant labourer in UAE.
