3 APSRTC passengers killed 25 others injured in a head-on collision


At least 3 passengers were killed and 25 others injured when the two APSRTC buses in which they were travelling collided head-on at Sunkaripeta in Vijayanagaram district of Andhra Pradesh.


The Vijayanagar SP Rajakumari said over the phone that the incident occurred this morning after the bus drivers got confused due to the poor visibility in the morning hours due to complete fog on the national highway. The driver of one of the bus was killed while the other driver said to be seriously wounded. The impact of the accident increased after a gas cylinder-laden lorry rammed into one of the buses at the accident site.

All the injured were travelling in different buses and were shifted to the hospital for treatment. The police personnel belonging to an armed reserve force stationed in their camp near the accident spot rushed to the rescue of the passengers.

The police, Ambulance services and RTC officials rushed to the spot.
