3 Jawans killed, 10 injured in a landmine explosion in Chattisgarh

At least 3 policemen of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) were killed while 10 others sustained grievious injuries when their mini bus was blown up by naxals in Narayanpur district of Chattisgarh district.


The incident occurred this evening when the landmine planted by the Naxals went off between Kadenar and Kanhergoan villages. The 27-member DRG team was said to be returning home after the anti-Naxal operation in the area. The impact was so severe that the bus was thrown out into a culvert on to the roadside.

All the injured were shifted to hospital. The 45th battalion of the Indo-Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) coming in a bus behind them came to their rescue. They also said to have round-up over 5 suspected Naxals in Bijapur who were involved in the blast in 2015.

The Chattisgarh DGP Awasthi confirming the incident to media personnel said that they have rushed the reinforcements to the area and awaiting further details in this regard.
