4 Maoists and a Sub-Inspector killed in encounter in Chattisgarh


At least four Maoists and a Sub-Inspector of police were killed in an encounter took place early this morning in the dense forest of Chattisgarh.

According to the details available, the encounter took place in the early hours during combing operations between the special police party and the moist after both came face to face near Pardhoni village under Manpur police station limits.

A sub-inspector of police sustained bullet injury and died on his way to the hospital. Later the four bodies of moist including 2 women and 2 male were recovered along with an AK-47 rifle, 1 SLR, 2 315 bore rifles were recovered from the scene of encounter besides moist literature, and their personal kits.

Superintendent of Police, Rajnandgaon Jitendra Shukla told MaaHyderabad that “Our sub-inspector SK Sharma had lost his life in Maoist firing”.

The Maoists killed were identified as divisional committee member Ashok, Area committee member Krishna, besides Sarita and Pramila who were junior cadre.
