4 Navy officers among 18 booked for fake bill racket in Mumbai Naval base

At least 4 Naval officers of Western Naval Command were booked by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for generating fake bills up to Rs 6.76 crore to defraud the Navy.

According to information available, the accused have been identified as Captain Atul Kulkarni, Commanders Mandar Godbole and RP Sharma, and Petty Officer LOG (F&A) Kuldeep Singh Baghel. The CBI also booked 14 others including officials in Controller of Defence Accounts, Private Companies, Star Network, ACME Networks, Cyberspace Infovision and Moksh Infosys. along with the 4 prime accused.

The accused have generated the fake bills for supplying information technology and networking-related hardware to the Western Naval Command in Mumbai between January and March in 2016.
