6000 Indians trapped in Iran, Spl Medical teams to leave for Italy

The Government of India has decided to send Special Medical Teams to the Covid-affected Italy on Friday to screen the Indians stranded in their country, informed the Union Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar in Rajya Sabha today.

He confessed that the situation in Italy and Iran is very grave and his government has decided to send special medical teams to these countries and bring back those not affected. He said that Coronavirus has spread to 90 countries and bringing back all those Indians stranded in those countries will only add to our owes. “So far we have brought Indians only from Wuhan”, he said.

He further informed that over 6000 Indians stranded in Iran alone and out of which 1100 were pilgrims mostly belonging to Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir and Maharashtra. “Our priority is now to bring these travellers back home”, he said adding that over 58 travellers have already arrived.
