At least 611 people were imprisoned and 86 driving licenses were suspended during a drunken drive held by the Hyderabad Traffic Police in the month of July.
According to the city police, a total number of 3082 were caught in drunken drive out of whom at 611 people were jailed for drunken driving by the 3rd and the 4th Metropolitan Magistrate courts in Nampally. In addition 76 violators for other offences including Cell Phone Driving, Without DL, Top Violation, Minor Driving and other M.V Act & Rules were also jailed.
However, th Courts have imposed a fine of Rs. 66, 77,800 on the remaining 2385 traffic violators. All those sentenced for imprisonment were sent to Chanchalguda Jail, said the police.
