960 foreign Tablighis blacklisted, Visas and Passports seized

The Union Home Ministry on Friday blacklisted over 960 Tablighis identified as foreigners and attended the Markaz at Nizamuddin in South Delhi and seized their passports for staying in the country on tourist visas and for indulging in Tablighis activities.

‪MHA has also directed DGPs of all concerned States, UTs and CP, Delhi Police to take necessary legal action against all such violators, on priority, under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act, 1946 and Disaster Management Act, 2005.

Union Home Minister asked the state Chief Secretaries and DGs to further identify those foreigners who have involved in Tablighis activities and seize passports in their respective states.

The government of India further declared that 27% of India’s Cronovirus cases have originated only from Tablighis Jamaat. At least 550 out of 2069 people tested positive in the country are belonging to Tablighis Jamaat.
