A RR District Coordinator of Aarogyasri Trust Dr T Raghunath was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a Dentist for empanelment with the Trust.
According to the details available, the action was followed after the complainant Dr Meela Sridhar of Sangareddy tipped the ACB about the demand of Raghunath to renew the service contract agreement with the Aarogyasri Trust. They laid a trap and he was caught red-handed while accepting the money.
The authorities said the amount was recovered from his laptop bag. Fingers of his both hands and inner linings of laptop bag yielded positive results in the chemical test. The officer was recently made in charge of the Sangareddy district as well. The accused officer has been produced before the First Additional Special Judge, ACB cases and remanded to judicial custody.
ACB DG appealed to the people to dial 1064 to intimate if anyone demands bribe to execute their job responsibilities.
