The State Election Commission has instructed the Metro Rail and GHMC authorities to give equal opportunities to all political parties while allocating advertisement panels on Metro Pillars, Bus Shelters and on Public Toilets.

In a clarification issued here today, the SEC explained that political parties have complained to remove advertisements from Metro pillars and bus shelters etc by the ruling party and stated that it cannot stop them as they have been allocated to private people on the basis of Build, Operate and Transfer (BOP) by facilitating them to earn revenue through selling advertisement space which neither GHMC nor Metro Rail has no rights over it. However, the SEC has instructed the GHMC to ensure maintaining balance while allocating advertisement space to the political parties by giving them equal opportunities.
