The Committee under the guidance of the Chief Justice has decided to extend the Covid financial assistance to the Advocates having a minimum of 10 years standing at the Bar Council as on the date of application.
In an order issued here today, the Board of Trustees of the Telangana State Advocates Welfare Trust has taken a decision to this effect while calling for applications seeking financial help on or before May 16 either directly or through WhatsApp or through email to their respective Bar Associations.
The decision has come in the wake of several representations received from Bar Associations to consider all needy advocates irrespective of their standing at the Bar. It may be recalled the Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has announced Rs25 Crores to the Advocates as a Covid relief only to be distributed to the needy among them under the supervision of Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. The government has subsequently released the amount to the Telangana Advocates Welfare Trust.
