All party leaders demand ex-gratia to the COVID deceased


The leaders of the opposition parties in unison have demanded the state government to announce an ex gratia to those died of Coronavirus in the state.

In a memorandum submitted to the State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar here today, the opposition leaders comprising TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, TJF President Prof Kodandram, CPI Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy etc have demanded that in view of the economic crisis prevailed in the state and the country, announcing an exgratia would help next to the kin of the deceased. They brought to the notice of the CS that the government’s Covid help of Rs 1500 and 12 kgs of rice is not at all sufficient for a family hence demanded to announce Rs 5000 financial help besides 15 kgs fine rice instead of present poor quality rice being supplied.

They also urged the government to purchase the wet paddy damaged due to rains, from the farmers in order to save them from landing into financial trouble. They also questioned the CS as to why the government has stopped doing Covid tests widely. They alleged that the government wants to underplay the issue by not projecting the actual number of cases.
