Hyderabad, December 9 (Telemedia) : The All Party Meeting held here on Tuesday under the stewardship of Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao discussed various issues pertaining to hussainsagar cleansing, change in metro rail alignment, distribution of lands to landless SC,STs, illegal encroachments in the city etc.
The meeting began with a discussion on the cleansing of hussain sagar and building skyscrappers around it. CM while explaining on the pollution in the lake termed it as unfortunate and in order to contain the pollution, he conveyed the govt. decision to build vinayaksagar in the place of Indira Park. However, the BJP president Kishan Reddy speaking to media persons later expressed his displeasure over it and declared that they would oppose the move. Meanwhile, a communique from CMO said that the government’s decision of building skyscrappers was supported by all party meet. Regarding illegal encroachments in the city, the meeting decided to deal with violators stringently. The parties have asked to furnish the list of accused to which the govt. assured to do so in its next meeting scheduled to be held on 16th of this month.
Regarding changes proposed in metro rail alignment all parties have agreed to the alterations at two places at assembly and sultan bazar including BJP. However, it took objections with regard to the changes in Metro rail route in old city while MIM leader Akbaruddin declared that the metro should run in the new route . However, the CM tried to explain the BJP leader about the importance of protecting historic structures in old city but in vain. There was also a power point presentation by the metro authorities regarding the possible destruction of structures that were likely to occur if proposed alterations were not taken up in the route map.
The CM also informed that the poor people if found to be in the occupation of govt. lands upto 125 yards would be given pattas free of cost besides providing them with residential apartments. The meeting which lasted for four hours ended up with a dissent note by opposition parties especially congress leader Suresh Reddy quipped pessimistically that KCR is making all false promises.
