Representatives of National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) and Telangana State Hotels Association(TSHA) have urged the Minister for Municipal and Urban Development KT Rama Rao to allow them to resume their business operations post lockdown.
The delegation led by Shaaz Mehmood of Olive Group, Shankar Krishnamurthy of Fusion 9 & Amar Ohri of Ohri’s group informed the minister that the hotel industry was badly hit by the Covid19 crisis due to lockdown and has not got any support from any quarter.
However, on the advice of the Minister, the delegation assured to set internal guidelines in adherence to government guidelines related to sanitation, hygiene & social distancing to keep their customers and employees safe. The delegation also informed that the Minister not only reassured the resumption of the business post lockdown but also positive that the State Government will provide all possible support to stabilise and systematically reopen this sector.
The delegation also made specific requests relating to license period extensions, deferred payment of utilities, rent advisory, stimulus packages for working capital & wages etc.
