Amit Shah’s remarks on NRC stir up hornet’s nest

In an interesting development on Friday, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah categorically denied that his government had set aside the NRC proposal for time being owing to the ongoing agitations country-wide.

According to his interview to a media house in New Delhi today, he reported to have remarked that his government would implement the NRC once the agitations stop. “We are only talking about it. Will think of its implementation only after it subsides”, he said.

His remarks stirred yet another hornet’s nest following the country-wide agitation called by the united opposition parties on January 8 against the BJP’s move to implement CAA and NRC.
