AP Cabinet gives nod to Legislative Council Abolition Bill

Andhra Pradesh cabinet meeting led by its Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has unanimously accepted the bill proposing to abolish Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council here today.

The decision came as expected following the recent decision of the Council to send the two crucial bills of the government – Capital Decentralisation Bill and the CRDA Abolition Bill, to the Select Committee. This has stemmed from the fact that the opposition Telugu Desam party has more strength than the ruling YSRCP party in the council.
