Andhra Pradesh has been competing with other states in the country to have the highest recorded number of covid positive cases with more than 2000 cases is being recorded every day. As on today, the AP has crossed its 40,000 marks with 2602 positive cases reporting.

The state reaches 8th position in the country with 40,646 cases besides 534 deaths to date. However, the solace is the recovery rate is also equally high with 50% of the total detected cases i:e at 20,298 while the active cases remain at 19,814 who are undergoing treatment in various isolation centres.

Reacting on this, a DMH official said out of 2602 cases, 8 cases are from the outside state while 2 are NRI. “It is in fact good sign as more number of people are being covered due to widespread testings being done in the state as per the ICMR guidelines and under directions of the Chief Minister who is monitoring the cases on regular basis”, said the official.

Whereas the neighbouring Telangana has already climbed up to 7th position by crossing this mark with its 42,496 cases till date including today’s 1,478 cases.
