In a sensational development, Andhra Pradesh government has officially complained to the Chief Justice of India against a senior Supreme Court Judge hailing from Andhra Pradesh for what it has termed exhibiting partisan attitude favouring the main opposition political party.
According to the Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh Ajay Kallam, the government has stated that in the larger interest of the public and in order to put the speculation at rest concerning the developments in the state, the government deemed it fit to officially speak on the above to ensure the dignity of all the institutes is preserved.
“The government of Andhra Pradesh has filed writ petitions against the orders of Justice DV Somayajulu staying all further proceedings of the cabinet sub-committee and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and also the order of the Chief Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari to stay on the investigation on the CAG orders filed on reported FIR on the former Advocate General and his family members of the sitting judge of the Supreme Court now what is being referred to as the Amaravathi land scam”, stated Kallam.
He further read out the statement saying “As you are all aware, the state government has apprised the recent happenings in the high court of AP in particular reference to the intervention of the sitting judge of the Supreme Court NV Ramana in the proceedings of the AP High Court. The Government has placed the material before the honourable Chief Justice of India regarding the proximity of Justice NV Ramana with the former Chief Minister of AP Nara Chandra Babu Naidu on his interventions to protect the interests of the TDP and his party men. The Judicial impropriety of Justice NV Ramana while he was a judge of the High Court in the combined state passing orders favouring Dammalapati Srinivas.
The government has placed the material before the CJI about the recent happenings and the orders passed by the high court which is on account of direct influence exerted by Justice NV Ramana over the proceedings of the High Court”, said Ajay Kallam adding that the recent instances of orders passed by the high court in connection with the Amaravathi land scam along with the relevant annexure in this connection.
