The new year set to bring in ‘Good News’ to the Andhra Pradesh RTC employees as they are to be treated as the state government employees with effect from January 1st, 2020. The Andhra Pradesh Assembly has passed a bill to this effect today bringing smiles on to the 52,000 RTC employees across the state.
The bill to this effect was introduced in the assembly this morning by the Minister Perni Nani and was finally declared passed by the Speaker Thammineni Sitharam after a prolonged debate on the issue.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy accused the erstwhile Telugu Desam government of bringing legislation not to consider private workers as government employees. “This law brought in 1997 has become a major hurdle for implementing our promise of merging RTC employees into government. However, today we have brought this historical bill”, declared the CM amidst thumping desk from treasury benches.
