
The inter-state Excise officials from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh in joint operation on Friday raided over 5 villages and destroyed 52,100 liters of illicit liquor being brewed by the local tribals.
At least 9 teams comprising 48 officers and staff from both Vijayanagaram and Odisha segments have raided the villages in Yedugubalsa, Alamanda, Kappalada, Bittarapaada, Jaikota of Koraput Division. They found at least 52,100 litres of FJ Wash, 220 litres of ID arrack and 150 kgs of Black Jaggery were stored in plastic tins which were destroyed by the officials.
It is considered that this is the biggest raid in the recent year especially after the liquor ban in Andhra Pradesh.
