At last, the Editor-in-Chief of the Republican TV Arnab Goswamy has got the bail in the Supreme Court today. The court granted the bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000. The other two of his colleagues were also given bail along with him.

He has been arrested and lodged in Taloja prison by the Maharashtra police in connection with a 2018 suicide case by an interior designer of his office. Arnab approached the Supreme Court after the Mumbai court denied bail to the journalist who has been championing the cause of nationalism through his media.

While granting the bail, Justice Cahndrachud pointed out that of late, the successive governments have been targeting those opposing their policies. The Supreme Court will always protect the constitutional rights of such people, he said adding that whatever be the ideology of Arnab and his channel, it should not be the reason for the Maharashtra government to target him.
