Congress MP from Malkajgiri and TPCC Working President Revanth Reddy demanded the arrest the power minister Jagdish Reddy and Genco CMD Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao make them responsible for the fire accident at Srisailam power generation unit resulting in the death of 9 of its employees.
In a statement here today after visiting the houses of DE Srinivas Reddy and AE Fatima who died in the mishap, Revanth and Shabbir Ali said that the duo had failed to respond to a report submitted by the employees at ground level regarding the possible danger of fire accident just 2 days before the accident took place resulting in the loss of 9 precious lives. The leaders demanded that a case under IPC section 302 (murder) should be registered against both the Minister and the CMD and “they should be arrested immediately”, they said.
They also accused the Chief Minister of washing off his hands by ordering a CBI probe but did care to visit the victims who are staying in Hyderabad very much. “KCR lacks humanity as he did not even think of his responsibility to at least console the victims. Former Chief Minister Rosaiah was far better than KCR who at the age of 80 went to the flood-affected areas and consoled the victims”, they pointed out.
While praising the sacrifices made by the Genco employees, Revanth Reddy said they gave up life protecting their colleagues and the Rs 10,000 crore worth properties of the state government and deserves a compensation of Rs One Crore, a house site and a job to each of their family.
