Hyderabad Sept.23 (Telemedia) : The Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao agreed to give power generation of 1880 MW to BHEL in Kothagudem and Manuguru units on the basis of MOU to BHEL, a Public Sector undertaking on EPC basis (Engineering Procurement and Construction).
The Chairman and Managing Director, BHEL B.P. Rao along with Director Power, Atul Sobti and his Executive Directors Gopalakrishnan and Sriram called on Chief Minister today at Secretariat and made a request to this effect.
Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao has also directed the CMD Telangana State GENCO to ensure generation of 6000 MW in the next three years to make the State Power surplus and if necessary by entrusting the projects on MoU to BHEL. He said the execution has to be on time bound and targeted. The CMD assured the Chief Minister to execute the projects of 1080 MW (4×270) within the next twenty four months and the remaining within the next three years.
The Chairman and Managing Director of Telagnan State GENCO D. Prabhaker Rao, Principal Secretary in CMO S. Narsing Rao were present in the meeting.
