BJP asks EC to suspend Siddipet SP and deployment of poll observers

The State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanded the suspension of Siddipet district Superintendent of Police and deployment of Central Forces to over the polling process in the Dubbaka Constituency besides initiating a CBI inquiry into the police highhandedness in connection with the cases foisted against its state unit president Bandi Sanjay.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer here today, the two-member delegation comprising Indrasena Reddy and MLC Ramachander Rao alleged that the entire police machinery is supporting openly to the ruling TRS party and as part of this they are targetting the BJP candidates, his family members and party leaders including star campaigners in Dubbaka Bypoll. They narrated the sequence of events that led to the filing of cases against its candidate under section 436, 437 and 438 of 2020.

“In this circumstance, there is no guarantee that the poll would be held in a free and fair manner. Hence, we demand you to appoint a poll observer to monitor the process, besides suspending the Siddipet SP immediately”, they said.
