BJP demands probe into electoral malpractices by TRS, complains to EC

BJP MLC candidate N Ramachandra Rao is seen submitting a memorandum seeking probe in to TRS election malpractices.

BJP MLC N Ramachandra Rao who lost to TRS candidate Vani Devi has complained against her party for indulging in what he termed ‘Bogus Vote Enrolment, Transport of voters by TRS Party on Poll Day and Distribution of Money to the voters through Google pay, Paytm etc. in the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy– Hyderabad Graduates Constituency.

In a letter addressed to the EC, Ramachandra Rao sought an official enquiry into the whole episode. He alleged that they enrolled voters on the basis of submission of fake degree and diploma certificates. The party also requested to send the certificates uploaded to the concerned universities for verification and thereafter publish the draft list for objections, to ensure free and fair elections, giving an example that on the direction of the Supreme Court of India, all the Bar Councils are sending their enrolled advocates for certification verification to verify any bogus or fake certificates submitted for enrollment as advocates. However, for reasons inexplicable, it was not done, and so many bogus votes with fake certificates were enrolled and it has affected his winning chances, he claimed.

Further it is submitted that Section 123 (5) of Representations of the peoples Act 1951 speaks that “The hiring or procuring, whether on payment or otherwise, of any vehicle or vessel by a candidate or his agent or by any other person with the consent of a candidate or his election agent or the use of such vehicle or vessel for the free conveyance of any elector other than the candidate himself the members of his family or his agent to or fro any polling station provided under section 25 or a place fixed under sub-section (1) of section 29 for the poll.

  1. He alleged that TRS party members grossly violated the above provision of law, they have transported every voter from the villages to the polling station by hiring vehicles, further, they have also hired the vehicles in urban areas, particularly calling the voters and asking them whether they need any transportation. For example, my election agent is a resident of Chaitanyapuri, LB Nagar Constituency, but his vote is in polling station No.358 at Uppal, at about 7.45 a.m., he received a call from Mobile No.9550789879 asking him any transport is required to come to Uppal for voting when he enquired he said he is TRS Party Secretary of Uppal area. Immediately he reported the matter to the Returning Officer through Whatsapp,
  1. It is further submitted that the TRS People have indulged in malpractices by paying money of Rs. 2,000 to 5,000 to the voters through Google pay, Paytm etc. In view of the above facts and circumstances, the BJP candidate Ramachandra Rao demanded a CBI probe to expose the corrupt practices indulged in by the ruling party.
