All is set for the polling for Tuesday with the campaign coming to an end on Sunday and the Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) making elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of polls in 150 wards in GHMC area.
Over 74,44,260 voters are likely to exercise their franchise among whom 38,76,688 are men and 35,65,896 are women and others are 676. The total number of wards is 150 while 1,122 candidates are in the fray from different parties including independents.
The total contestants in the fray include 150 from TRS, 149 from BJP, 146 from Congress, 106 from TDP, 15 from MIM, 17 from CPI, 12 from CPM and 76 from other registered parties besides 415 are independents.
The SEC made the other arrangements as follows:

- Expenditure Observers – 34

The SEC ordered Election Staff to be present in the booths by 5.30 am on December 1, 2020.
The Timings for others include:
Polling Agents to attend by – 6 am
Mac Polling to be held from – 6-6.15 am
Ballot boxes to be sealed by – 6.55 am
POLLING COMMENCES – 7 AM
POLLING CONCLUDES – 6 PM
- Voters with COVID-19 but did not receive the ballot can vote in a Special queue line
- Voters who don’t have Voter ID Cards but can bring in any of 21 varieties of IDs listed
- Separate queue lines have been formed for the Senior Citizens and the Physically Disabled

A total of 55,500 armed reserve policemen were deployed to maintain the law and order in the city. Control rooms have been established in every GHMC zone besides headquarters and instructions have been given to sanitize every polling station well in advance night before the date of polling.
Meanwhile, Telangana State Election Commissioner G Parthasarathy in a video message appealed to every individual to utilise their vote by casting to their choice of candidates in the ensuing GHMC elections on December 1, 2020. “Casting a vote is not only your constitutional right but also your moral duty towards society”, said Parthasarathy.
