The Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) which arrived here to assess the Covid19 situation in the state had a review meeting with the Telangana state Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar at Secretary today.
Earlier in the day, the team led by the Addl. Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti Arun Baroka has visited the exclusive Covid19 hospital at Gachibowli and the GHMC’s Akshayapatra kitchen in Narsing. They went around the two-places inquiring about the facilities available and the methods being adopted to safeguard from the Covid19 there by the government.
Chief Secretary gave a detailed presentation on treatment, maintaining containment zones, quarantine centres, hospital preparedness, surveillance, testing, helpline, procurement of medical equipment, the supply of rice to white ration card holders, relief measures to migrant workers, Annapurna centres and Shelter homes etc to the Central team.
He informed the team that Chief Minister Chandra Shekhar Rao has given directions to save the lives of people and minimize positive cases and deaths thereby implement lockdown strictly in the State.
The Central Team appreciated the initiatives taken by the State Government to contain the Coronavirus in the State.
The other members of the Central Team include Senior Public Health Specialist Dr Chandrashekhar Gedam, Director, National Institute of Nutrition Ministry of Health & Family WelfareDr Hemlatha, Director, Ministry of Consumers Affairs S S Thakur and Associate Professor, National Institute of Disaster Management Shekhar Chaturvedi.
The officers from the state Special Chief Secretary (Health) Smt. Shanti Kumari, Secretary to Agriculture Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner of Police (Hyderabad) Anjani Kumar, Secretary (PR & RD) Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Commissioner, GHMC Lokesh Kumar, Commissioner, Civil Supplies Satyanarayana Reddy, Secretary (Finance) Ronald Ross, Director (CCLA) Rajat Kumar Saini, and Director (Prohibition & Excise) Sarfaraz Ahmed were among other top officials participated in the meeting.
