The centre on Wednesday clarified that no decision has been taken yet on extending the lockdown after April 14.
The officials clarified that Chief Ministers of several states have suggested the extension and Centre is only examining the proposal at present. The officials also appealed not to make any guesswork on this until an official confirmation comes out.
However, they said that Centre may continue to close down all religious activities and the educational institutions till May 15 irrespective of the extension of lockdown, the cabinet Committee on COVID-19 has suggested the government to this effect.
They also informed that Cabinet Committee was asked by the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC) to allow the sales of liquor in 10 states including Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
