Hyderabad : Union Minister for Panchayat Raj, Birender Sing lauded the state government’s drinking water project and termed it as model project for rest of the states in India. He said he would ask all the states to emulate Telangana State in this regard. The Minister was in city to review Panchayat Raj activities in the state. State Minister for Panchayat Raj gave a power point presentation to the Union Minister who was very much impressed with the progress the state made in implementing the water grid project. The minister Rama Rao also presented a status report on Panchayat Raj and Rural Development. All the officials from Department of Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Sanitation & Drinking Water were present in the meeting.
Minister KTR also explained about E-Panchayat, Mission Kakatiya and Swachcha Telangnana initiatives to the Union Minister who appreciated the various development initiatives of Telangana state government. He was very impressed with the initiative of the KTR to prevent urination in open area by the people which is being implemented as a pilot project in his home constituency Sircilla.
