Chandrababu unveils statue of ‘Narayana Swamy’ in Mahabubnagar

The Statue of Gulf Workers' leader Nayana Swamy statue is being unveiled by Chandra Babu Naidu in Mahabubnagar today

TDP National President and former AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu paid rich tributes to late P Narayana Swamy saying that he had always fought for the cause of the migrant, unorganised and Gulf workers throughout his life.


Naidu described Narayana Swamy as a relentless fighter for the rights of the workers and he had also worked at the national and international levels for the protection of the aggrieved workers. Swamy’s services were remembered for rescuing the Gulf workers from illegal detentions and employment problems.

Speaking after virtually unveiling a statue of late Narayana Swamy at Ammapur in Chinachintakuntapally mandal in Mahbubnagar district, the TDP chief recalled how Swamy had rendered memorable services as a member on fact-finding committees on human rights violations. He also fought legal battles on behalf of the workers in the High Courts and the Supreme Court as well. Swamy had always a passion for going to the rescue of the struggling workers all over.

Chandrababu Naidu said that during NTR’s time itself, ‘Srama Sakti’ award was presented to Narayan Swamy for his unfailing services to the workers.
