City Cops help transport ‘Live Heart’ 10 km in 12 minutes

The Hyderabad City Traffic Police has once again proved that it has heart, not just for the commuting traffic but also for the ailing patients by arranging a Green Corridor to help transport Live Organ from Secunderabad Yashoda hospital to Care hospital Banjara Hills and thereby save a patient.

The Care hospital today expressed its gratitude to the city Traffic Police for what they termed arranging a Green Corridor to transport a Live Organ – Heart needed to be transplanted to a patient at Care hospital Banjara Hills within 12 minutes covering 10 km distance.

According to them, the ambulance convoy escorted by traffic police started from Secunderabad Yashoda hospital at 9.32 AM and covered the 10 KM distance to CARE Hospitals, Banjara hills in 12 minutes during the peak traffic hours.

“We would also like to thank the state initiative Jeevandan Cadaver Transplantation Program” as it is a ray of hope for many patients suffering from end-stage organ failure”, said Dr Riyaz Khan, COO of Care Banjara. He also thanked Chief Co-ordinator Dr G. Swarnalatha for streamlining the program in Telangana and in creating awareness among the general public about the importance of organ donation.
