CM empowers local bodies, Clears pending issues of public representatives

Ministers, MLCs and MLAs are seen submitting their grievances to the CM KCR

Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao has taken a decision to enable the Gram Panchayat funds to be utilized as per the decisions taken by the Gram Panchayats. “With this, the Gram panchayats would get a facility to spend funds for their own local needs”, said CM KCR.


The CM also decided to construct 142 Municipalities, Corporations, Integrated markets for the sale of Veg and non-Veg, fruits and flowers. Adequate government Sites for these markets should be identified in such a way that they are accessible to women.

The CM held a meeting here on Friday at Pragathi Bhavan with MLAs from several Constituencies. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that in the backdrop of the Telangana State government working actively towards empowering the local bodies, the government is keen on strengthening the basic infrastructure facilities in rural and urban areas.

He took decisions sanctioning works pertaining to the R&B, Irrigation, Home and Panchayat Raj departments in certain Assembly constituencies. On this occasion, the CM sanctioned works, both pending and new as per the requests made by the MLAs, by speaking to the higher officials concerned over phone.

The CM sanctioned works pertaining to Rail Over Bridges in the urban areas where there are railway lines, Underpasses, widening of the roads, construction of the dividers, formation of Central Lightning System, Check dams on rivers and canals wherever they are necessary.

He also instructed the officials from the Water Resources Department to ensure that crops would not wither away under the Krishna Godavari Basin. Responding to requests from some MLAs, the CM instructed the officials to release water for the Summer Crops and instructed Agriculture Minister Niranjan Reddy to take measures to release water to the summer Crops under the Kollapur, Peddapalli Assembly segments as requested by the local MLAs following which the Kaleswaram E-in-C Nalla Venkateswarlu released water from SRSP by lifting the Gates to enable waters to reach Eklaspur in Manthani Mandal and till the last Ayucut of Odella Kaluva Srirampur and entire Pedapalli district.

The CM also responded positively pending and new works in Nakrekal, Manakonduru, Warangal, Narasampet, Kodangal, Jagtial, Devarakadra, Gadwal, Korutla, Kolhapur, Narayankhed, Narsapur and other Assembly segments.

The CM instructed TS Transco, Genco CMD Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao to remove the power lines that were running over the houses in villages and urban areas at the government’s cost.

The CM has instructed the Legislators to inspect the construction works of the Collectorates and SP offices. The CM issued instructions in this regard to DGP Mahender Reddy over the phone. The CM also decided to construct additional police stations including the Traffic Police stations. He wanted the formation of Women police wings and guidelines to issue GOs to be prepared in this regard.
