At least 6 bodies of the TS Genco employees who were trapped inside the SLBC tunnel at Srisailam Power Generation unit were recovered today and the search for the remaining 3 others is on as they believed to be dead.
The rescue personnel could reach up to the first, second and third level with great difficulty and could recover the dead bodies. However, they could move farther as thick smoke filled the area.
The thick black smoke filled the tunnel leading to the asphyxiation resulting in their death. The smoke continued to emanate from the tunnel’s another escape route on the other end of the hill.
