“Tirunagari Ramanujam would remain as the literary heir to Maha Kavi Dasaradhi”, states the Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao.
CM was honouring the renowned poet from Telangana on the occasion of 74th India’s independence day celebrations held in a low-profile way in Pragati Bhavan today. CM also awarded Tirunagari with the Dasaradhi Award for 2020 along with a memento, shawl and a cash prize of Rs 1,01,116.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said the poet is a great literary personality about whom the entire Telangana society is proud of and said Sri Ramanujam deserves the Dasaradhi award cent per cent. He said Bala Veera Sathakam, Aksharadhara, Tirunagareeyam, written by Ramanujam became very popular.
The CM also appreciated Ramanujam for his grip on traditional and Sanskrit literature as well as his knowledge about modern literature. Blend of traditional and modern literature that what makes Ramanujam stand out. The CM hoped that the poet would continue to contribute more to enrich the Telugu literary world.
TRSPP Leader Dr K Keshav Rao, Government’s Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy, Cultural Affairs Secretary Srinivas Raju, Director Mamidi Harikrishna, CM OSD Desapathy Srinivas, Ramanujam’s son Srinivas and others attended. Ramanujam recited a poem he wrote praising the CM as the modern-day Maha Vishnu.
