“Conduct Covid tests to every Journalist in the state, asked Chairman of the Telangana State Media Academy Allam Narayana.
Allam Narayana accompanied by the representatives of Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) called on the State Finance Minister Etela Rajendar here in his chambers at BRK Bhavan today and submitted a memorandum to this effect.
Explaining the Minister on the developments following the death of TV5 journalist Manoj due to Covidvirus, Allam Narayana demanded the Minister to provide Corona kits comprising face masks, sanitizers, PPE, hand gloves etc to every journalist in the state and asked to instruct all corporate hospitals to provide treatment to all those possessing Journalist health cards issued in the state.
“Since, journalists are also working on par with medical, police and municipal staff, insurance of Rs 20 lakh should be made applicable to them”, he urged the Minister.
The TUWJ representatives who accompanied Allam Narayana include general secretary Maruthi Sagar, TEMJU president Syed Ismail, President of Small Papers Association Yusuf Babu, Navin Kumar, Sadiq, Jayasaradhi and others.
