Telangana cops have foiled the Chalo Mallaram protest call given by the Telangana Congress party today by resorting the arrests of their key leaders at different places in the state.


State party Uttam Kumar Reddy was arrested at Jangaon and kept in Lingala Ghangpur station while CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka was taken into custody at Raghunathpalli besides Manthani MLA Sridhar Babu at Manthani.

The party has called for agitation at Mallaram wherein a Dalit was murdered recently. Congress leaders wanted to visit Mallaram and call on their family members.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar fired at the TRS government for what he termed as anti-Dalit government and alleged that the attacks on Dalits have increased manifold during KCR regime. Quoting the incidents of attacks on Dalits, Uttam said KCR ousted the Station Ghanpur MLA Rajaiah from the cabinet on charges of corruption, a Dalit youth was subjected to 3rd degree in Nerella in Sircilla for questioning the sand mafia, and another Dalit youth died in a police lockup in the state.

He wanted the Dalits to question the ruling party for its atrocities against them and reassured to be with them in this regard.
