Cong wants Governor to protect Varsity lands, submits memorandum


Telangana Pradesh Congre Committee (TPCC) complained to the Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan against the state government alleging that the Universities are being privatised in the state with an eye on its lands.

Making allegation to this effect, in a memorandum submitted to the Governor at Raj Bhavan today, the Congress delegation led by its former Rajyasabha member V Hanumanth Rao accused the KCR of deliberately encouraging private universities. KCR has made existing universities starve for funds to paving way for Private Universities. Referring to the recent land-grabbing episode by a retired judge in the University campus, Congress leaders demanded the Governor to initiate land survey pertaining to all universities in the state.

CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, MLA Jagga Reddy were among others who met the Governor along with Hanumanth Rao. Bhatti Vikramarka charged that the ruling party workers have grabbed university lands at many places and urged the Governor to protect University Lands.
