Cong will sweep 3 Municipal Corporation elections: Uttam

TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that his party would sweep the soon-to-be conducted elections in Greater Hyderabad, Warangal and Khammam Municipal Corporations.

Announcing the decisions taken at a party meeting held here at Indira Bhavan today during a media conference, Uttam Kumar Reddy took serious exception at the anomalies in the bifurcation of wards as it was made to benefit some sections only. “Many wards in the city have either a high number of votes or a low number of votes. This should be rectified first”, he demanded.

It was also decided to complete the formation of party Divisional Committees and Sub-Divisional Committees in all the divisions in the 3 corporations before August 24. He asked all his party workers to send in their information at the grass-root level pertaining to the COVID deaths so that party would strive to get the paid a compensation of Rs 10 lakhs each from the government, he said.

Referring to the demolition of mandir and masjid in the secretariat, Uttam Kumar condemned the MIM Asaduddin supporting TRS government in this episode. “Why the party which claimed that steering of the car (TRS) was in their hands is silent now”, he questioned and declared that they would raise this issue on the floor of Parliament.

Uttam Kumar further declared that on August 22, submission of memorandums to all district Collectors will be taken up on large scale by the party exposing the failures of the government.

He further claimed that TRS has failed to do any development activity in the city as most of the development taken place such as PV Narasimha Rao express highway, Internation Airport, ORR, Krishna-Godavari waters, Metrorail etc. during the Congress regime. “We will take up door-to-door campaign explaining people about the failures of TRS government and I am sure we will sweep the municipal elections in the sate”, he said.
