At least 14 persons including the 2 contract killers were arrested by the Cyberabad police in connection with the kidnap and murder of Hemanth Kumar in Chandanagar today.
Revealing the details of the sensational murder for pride today, the Madhapur Deputy Commissioner of Police Venkateswarlu said that Hemanth and Avanthi Reddy got married against the wishes of their parents of the girl. The duo had married in July last and met the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police who instructed to counsel both the families. When we asked the couple whether to go back to her parents she preferred to stay separate and have been living separately in a rented house in TNGO’s colony here since then. And there was not a single complaint from them till date about any sort of suspicion or any trouble from their parents.
However, he said, unable to digest her daughter’s marriage, the girl’s father Lakshma Reddy hatched a conspiracy along with his brother-in-law Yugandhar who arranged the contract killers Bitchu Yadav, Erukala Krishna and Laddu Yadav alias Mohd Pasha all of whom are daily wage workers in the lorry transport field. Yugandhar also worked as Tanker cleaner in the past in that connection, he met them and promised to pay Rs Two lakh to Bitchu Yadav Rs5 Lakh to Erukala Krishna Rs 2 Lakh to Mohd Pasha.
Laxma Reddy gave Rs One lakh to Yugandhar as an advance from which Yugandhar paid Rs 3000 to Bitchu Yadav, Rs5000 to Erukala Krishna and Rs 3000 to Mohd Pasha.
According to him, yesterday at around 3 pm, Laxma Reddy along with Yugandhar, Erukala Krishna, Pasha reached the house of Avanthi Reddy with a plan to bring his daughter back while his other family members including his wife, Yugandhar’s wife, daughter in another car being driven by their family driver Saheb Patel.
Meanwhile, Hemanth after agreeing for discussion asked his parents to join but by the time they reached Hemanth’s house, it was found they were being taken away. Hemanth’s father Murali Krishna chased the car up to Gopanpalli on his scooter where he found Avanthi Reddy was forcibly dropped from the car. Avanti informed the matter on 100 before being rushed to the police station along with her father-in-law.
DCP said that police acted immediately and put all inspectors on high alert, besides checking the CC TV footages and keeping the track of mobile signals. Yugandhar who was driving the car in which Hemanth was there took a diversion from Gopanapalli and proceeded towards Vattinagulapalli, Kollur and Zaheerabad. He dropped Pasha in between as there was no seat in the car. They later purchased a full bottle of brandy and some snacks en route. Meanwhile, Yugandhar switched off the phone and could not be traced his whereabouts as no other family members know his murder plan.
While in return they again purchased another liquor bottle along with some bundles of twine thread (Sutli). They stopped the car on the roadside to enable Hemanth to pass urine. In the meantime, Bitchu Yadav tied Hemanth’s hands from behind with the thread and later while proceeding further they both tied his legs and neck and using the thread they strangulated him to death. After confirmation that he is dead, they took a left turn from the highway about 200 yards and dumped the body in bushes near MG Ventures under the cover of darkness. It was around 7 to 7.30 pm.
Yugandhar later proceeded towards Yellambanda and planned to consume liquor there. He switched on his mobile to inform his cousin brother Gudur Madhav Reddy’s son Sandeep Reddy and informed him about the murder and asked him to keep ready food for them. We got the signal after he switched on the mobile and teams raided and took all of them into custody including Sandeep Reddy for aiding a murder accused after knowing that he committed a crime.
DCP further said that on the whole over 14 persons have been arrested in the case and are on the lookout for another 4 persons who are absconding in the case. “Nobody will be spared in the case. All of them will be booked under relevant sections”, declared Venkateshwarlu.
To a question, he refused to accept that due to the negligence of the police, Hemanth was killed despite having Laxma Reddy’s family members in their custody. “But they do not know the execution plan of Yungadhar. We have done everything to trace the culprits in this. Once he opened his mobile we could trace the signals and caught him within 2 hours from the crime. The murder took place around 7.30 they were caught around 9.30 at Yellambanda”, he said.
