Covid Donations pour in as BJP Chief donates 50 lakh, PRT Union 16 cr


Several other prominent personalities including Microsoft Chief Satya Nadella, Cine actor Nitin, BJP chief Bandi Sanjay have extended their support and announced donations for the government initiatives to help the poor with the supply of essential commodities during the lockdown period imposed to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the state.

Telangana BJP state President Bandi Sanjay has contributed Rs 50 lakh from his MP Lads funds to the Karimnagar District Collector in order to fight with Covidvirus. In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao, the BJP chief extended his party’s solidarity and cooperation to the government in fighting the dreaded Covidvirus. He also called upon his party men to extend cooperation to the government machinery in doing so.

Meanwhile, Panchayat Raj Teachers’ Union (Telangana State) members have announced a donation of Rs 16 Crore to the CM’s Relief Fund. The consent letter given by the PRTU members to give one-day salary as a donation is handed over to Chief Minister here today by the PRTU President Pingili Sripal Reddy, Secretary Birelli Kamalakar Rao. They have also donated their one month salary through a Cheque to the CM.

Tandur MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy also donated his one month’s salary of Rs 2.50 Lakh to the CM’s Relief Fund through a Cheque to the CM to combat Covid.

Ms Anupama Venugopal Nadella, wife of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a donation of Rs 2 crore. A Cheque for Rs 2 Crore is handed over to Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao by Ms Anupama father and former senior IAS officer KR Venugopal.

Government employees and teachers have donated a day’s basic salary. Employees JAC leaders Karem Ravinder Reddy, Ms Mamata have handed over the Cheque to the CM. They said that the one-day wages of employees and teachers amounting to Rs 48 Crore is given for the CM Welfare Fund.

Film hero Nitin handed over a Cheque for Rs 10 Lakh to the CM. The CM thanked them all.
