Deputy CM Flags Off 500 Fleet Of Police Vehicles




Hyderabad, Jan. 25 (Telemedia) : As part of its commitment to make police more responsive, professional and mobile to attend to problems of the citizens of the State, Telangana Government has sanctioned 500 vehicles for the District Police. This addition to the Police department fleet would enable the department to provide individual vehicles to every Police Station in the State. The police station, which is the corner stone of criminal justice system, would now be able to respond more quickly and adequately to any situation warranting their attention and intervention.

Minister for Home Nayani Narsimha Reddy along with Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Revenue Mohamood Ali launched the fleet of  vehicles on the Necklace Road today in the presence of DGP and senior police officials.


This is the third large-scale addition to the State police mobile fleet after creation of the new State and the new Government assumed office. The effort of the new Govt has been to support the initiatives of the State Police in responding to the needs of the citizens. The first fleet of the police patrolling vehicles (SUVs and MOTOR CYCLES) for Police Commissionerate of Hyderabad and Cyberabad was launched by Chief Minister on August, 14, 2014.  The fleet of Interceptor vehicles for armed intervention in the metropolitan area of the State Police was launched on September 26, 2015.
