DGP honours Warangal cops for resolving Gorrenkunta case in record time

Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Mahender Reddy lauded the efforts of 12 policemen for ensuring punishment to the accused in the sensational murder of 9 members of a family in Gorrekunta case within a short span of time.


The DGP while honouring them said they stood testimony to the functioning of the Telangana Police force and appreciated their effort in not just achieving the breakthrough in the case but also ensuring getting justice in just 25 days after filing 485 pages charge sheet in the court and by producing 100 eye-witnesses.

Those honoured include Warangal District Police Commissioner Pramod Kumar, DCP K Venkata Laxmi, ACP G Shyam Sundar, Additional PP M Satyanarayana, Inspector J Sivaramaiah, Geesukonda SIs P Nagaraju, Abdul Raheem, Head Constables G Vijender, S Ashok Kumar, Constables G Damodar, D Kishan, J Lingaiah, and Home Guard Raju.

It may be recalled the Warangal court yesterday convicted Sanjay Kumar and awarded the death sentence in the ghastly murder. The judge Jay Kumar delivered the judgement in a record span of 25 days after examining 100 eye-witnesses in the case.
