Director-General of Police Mahender Reddy today launched an online cyber awareness campaign “CybHER”- Making cyberspace safe for Women and Children.
This campaign is being organized by the Women Safety Wing of the Telangana State Police under the supervision of Additional DGP Swathi Lakra in collaboration with the Legal Aid Centre, and Symbiosis Law School at Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahender Reddy said this campaign shall be held on multiple online platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Radio, Television with an aim of amplifying the sensitization during the critical times of COVID-19 on cybercrimes.
Further, he said, the campaign aims to bring to light the immediate risks and threats faced by the vulnerable, women and children on cyberspace which also acts as an interactive and informative platform for a healthy discussion on cyber safety.
Swathi Lakra said in her speech that the campaign is being supported by various eminent organizations such as UNICEF, ISAC, ISEA, SCERT, TSBIE, WiCSP, CyberPeace Foundation along with media partners Life of a girl, 92.7 Red FM, DD Yadagiri, Rainbow FM (AIR) and eminent cyber experts across the country like Rakshit Tandon, Pawan, Rohit Srivatsava, Ms.Swetha Kaur etc to put forward a learning opportunity about the diverse array of crimes, abuse, and online exploitation as well equipping the public with resources to empower themselves against cyber offences.
The campaign will be conducted for over a month with entertaining yet educating scheduled events on every day of the week- Monday: Informative poster; Tuesday: Quizzes & Polls; Wednesday: Competitions; Thursday: Flyer; Friday: Fact Friday; Saturday: Live sessions; Sunday: Video post.
DIG Women Safety Wing Sumathi Badugula, Olympic Silver Medalist PV Sindhu, Tollywood Actor & Producer Nani, TV Anchor Suma, Director, Symbiosis Prof Dr Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan were among those who participated in the programme.
