Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar instructed the GHMC to complete the distribution of Cash Incentive of Rs10,000 to each of the flood-affected families who were left unpaid.

The decision reportedly was taken in view of the allegations poured in over the irregularities in the recent cash distribution in the flood-affected areas. The CS instructed the Principal Secretary, MAUD and Commissioner, GHMC to prepare a schedule for distribution of the same in all affected localities. Further, it was also decided to ensure distribution of cash relief at the doorstep of all leftover affected and deserving families.

He said so far Rs387.90 Crores has been distributed to 3.87 lakh affected families. Earlier, the Government had sanctioned an amount of Rs 550 Crores from CMRF to the MAUD department for rescue, relief and rehabilitation programmes in flood-affected areas.
