DK Sinha promoted as Director of Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research


The Scientific Officer H+ in the Atomic Minerals Directorate of Exploration and Research (AMD), under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, Dr DK Sinha today has taken over as its Director after being elevated to the post. He was Additional Director in the department and had succeeded the outgoing Director MB Verma.

Dr. Sinha, after obtaining M.Tech in Applied Geology from Dr.Harisingh Gour University, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh joined AMD in 1984. He was awarded Ph.D. degree in Geology by Nagpur University in 1993. He has vast experience in exploration of atomic minerals spanning over 35 years in different geological domains of Eastern, Western and Central parts of India. His skilful exploration strategy resulted in large scale augmentation of atomic minerals in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand.

Dr Sinha is a devoted researcher in exploration Geology. He has published many new concepts which are widely used in Uranium exploration programme of the country. His geological acumen to collaborate with University and Research institutions has been appreciated by academicians in many aspects like the organization of symposium, seminars, training and collaborative projects.

Dr Sinha has published many research articles in National and International journals, therefore he has more than 100 citations. He is a life member of various National/International societies. He has widely traversed the country to gain experience in Geo-exploration. His exposure to international events like PDAC in Canada and URAM in IAEA, Austria provided an impetus to him to shoulder the responsibilities as Director, AMD.
