In response to the call given by the Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, a couple of organisations donated in cash and kind to the Indian Red Cross Society, Telangana Branch, to help the rain-affected people in the State.
Today, one Aramco company has donated soaps, while Lions Club Sanathnagar represented by Ms Rama Devi has donated notebooks.
Another organisation, Surakanti Malla Reddy Memorial Trust, represented by one Mahender Reddy donated notebooks.
On Thursday, Dr B. Vijay Bhaskar Goud of Disabled Foundation has handed over a cheque for Rs 1 Lakh drawn in favour of the Indian Red Cross Society to the Governor. Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan handed over the cheque to the IRS.
Dr Vijaya Bhaskar Goud, who also offers medical services to the needy at the Ravi Helios Hospital, also donated medicines intended for the distribution to the rain and flood-affected people.
One Mani Deep of Mani Deep Charitable Trust donated blankets and handed over the same to the Governor at the Raj Bhavan dispensary facility where the donations are being received and acknowledged.
The Governor appreciated the noble gesture of all those who made generous contributions in response to her call to help the flood-affected people in this hour of crisis.
“We need to rise to the occasion and help the needy and other displaced people who were affected by the heavy rains and the consequent flooding in many areas of the city and state,” the Governor added.
All these donations were accepted by Governor at the Raj Bhavan Dispensary and have handed over the same to the IRCS representatives for the distribution of the same to the people in flood-affected areas.
