Minister for Finance Harish Rao called upon people to fight against COVID pandemic but not against its victims.
Speaking after inaugurating the 100-bedded Mahavir Jitho Hospital in the city today, the Minister appreciated the Jain Community for coming forward to serve the COVID patients by setting up an exclusive hospital for the purpose in this hour of crisis.
“Jain community’s efforts in serving the society are unparallel and commendable”, he said while reiterating his government’s firmness in containing the COVID spread in the state. However, he warned those house owners harassing or forcing COVID patients to vacate accommodation or those obstructing the dead bodies of COVID patients from extending last rites by their family members. “Govt will take action against such people”, he warned.
Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and Andhole MLA Chanti Kranti Kiran were among those accompanied the minister.
